Corcoran Neighborhood Rewarded For Community Work

Local Public Hero Award 

Ceremony was held: June 7, 2021 10am-11am
As part of National Public Health Week, the City of Minneapolis has recognized the accomplishments of Corcoran Neighborhood Organization as they work to support the Health Department’s vision;   “Healthy lives, health equity, and healthy environments are the foundations of a vibrant Minneapolis now and into the Future.”  The Local Public Health Hero Awards honor those individuals, groups, teams, or organizations whose work supports the goals of the Health Department and helps raise awareness of the critical roles that public health and prevention play in celebrating a culture of health in Minneapolis. Corcoran Neighborhood Organization works in partnership to continue making Minneapolis a healthier place to live, learn, work, and play. The C-Spot continues to serve the community Monday through Thursday from 12-4pm.

Juneteenth 2021 Community Heroes Award 

Ceremony was held: Saturday June 19th
As part of the Juneteenth celebration the Juneteenth Board recognizes several local leaders and community organizations working to improve the quality of life for all in our communities. Corcoran Neighborhood Organization in particular has been showing up for the community in every way imaginable for the last 3 years under the direction of our very own board member Alicia D. Smith, she has served not only the Corcoran community but every neighborhood in our city no boundaries exist for her leadership and service. Corcoran Neighborhood Organization is our Community Hero for their service to our community.
