BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Thursday, January 10, 2019
7:00-9:00 at CNO Office

Attending: Flannery, Matt, Mike, Adam, Kelly, Aubrie, Lori, Ellie and ED Alisha

Call to Order: Flannery

Executive Update

-Community connection, city of Mpls, CNO 8-4 Alisha and Jenna attending

-Market will move to Moon Palace

-CNO will host with Volunteers of America and Nokomis Staff a Fit Strong class for seniors 2-3:30 pm twice a week for 12 weeks.

-Open House 1/17 11:12:30 for meeting neighbors. This will continue monthly. Times will rotate. (2-4 and 5-7 pm). Hopefully we will be able to reach more potential volunteers this way.

-Welcomed Jenna. Welcome party at Moon Palace 1/24 5:30-7 pm

-We have signed MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Moon Palace. More details will continue to be announced.

-Alisha asks that every Bd. Member provide a Bio and Picture to be included on Website and posted at office.

Land Use and Housing

-Adam updated information from the Oversight Committee for the Plaza Area.

-Janne Filsrand wants to work with CNO on a Hennepin County street safety initiative that’s been jump-started by Our Streets Minneapolis. They would like to have someone from L&H to meet with them as plans are developed. This group has been working with Hope Community to develop similar safety issues for Franklin Avenue.

Economic Development

-Volunteer attendance has dropped to 4

– “Try It” program is designing a plan to include more businesses this summer

-Much discussion about updating website to be current

-Discussion on many issues concerning online newspaper
